Ethiopia

Ethiopia is the birthplace of Arabica coffee, with wild heirloom varieties growing in highlands between 1,500 and 2,300 metres in regions like Sidama, Yirgacheffe and Guji. Fertile soils, abundant rainfall and traditional shade‑grown agroforestry systems produce beans with complex floral and fruity profiles featuring notes of jasmine, bergamot, blueberry and stone fruit. Coffee is often processed using both washed and natural methods by smallholder farmers, resulting in vibrant cups celebrated for their uniqueness and cultural heritage.
