About Kross Coffee Roasters
Kross Coffee Roasters began as two specialty coffee shops in Chania, Crete, opened by siblings Sotos and Stavros Michael and pastry chef Katerina Mavromataki in 2010. In 2017 they expanded into roasting at their Tsouderon Street location and quickly gained recognition, winning awards at coffee competitions and eventually serving as judges. The roastery now roasts about 10 tons of coffee a year for their own cafés and wholesale clients, sourcing high‑quality green beans from farms across many countries. Kross operates several cafes in Chania and beyond, including Tsouderon 73 and Nearchou 1, where they offer espresso drinks, pour‑overs, cold drip and pastries from their Black Eyed Kate bakery. They employ around 20 people and recently collaborated with local roasters to open Kollaborative Coffee Roasters in Nicosia.
