About Bean & Bean Coffee Roasters
Bean & Bean Coffee Roasters was founded in 2008 by mother‑daughter team Rachel and Jiyoon Han, both certified Q Graders. They opened their first café in Manhattan and have since expanded to four retail cafés and a roastery in Queens while also selling coffee online and wholesale. The family‑owned brand sources organic, fair‑trade beans traceable to the farm and roasts them locally in New York. As a women‑powered company, Bean & Bean is committed to closing the gender gap in coffee. More than half of their coffees come from women farmers and co‑ops, and they work with partners like Bean Voyage to improve gender equity across the supply chain. Their cafés in FiDi, Chelsea, Little Neck and Fort Lee offer freshly roasted coffees curated by the mother‑daughter duo, bringing their bean‑first ethos to local communities.
