Dark Arts Coffee Japan

Dark Arts Coffee Japan is a specialty coffee roaster and café based in Hayama, Kanagawa, Japan. Founded as the Japanese offshoot of London's cult Dark Arts Coffee by Jacopo Cerisola in 2018, it roasts single-origin beans in-house and serves coffee in a quirky, bike-friendly café.

About Dark Arts Coffee Japan

Dark Arts Coffee was founded in East London in 2014 by friends with a twisted vision of using alchemy to turn fire, water and magic beans into a divine elixir. The Japanese branch opened in 2018 in Hayama when founder Jacopo Cerisola and his Hayama-born wife returned to her hometown. It roasts single-origin beans on site and focuses on offering the best and most delicious coffee possible, sourcing interesting seasonal origins from around the world for both retail and wholesale. The Hayama café embraces the brand’s quirky occult‑and‑bike culture aesthetic and serves as a laid‑back hub for coffee lovers. Jacopo collaborates with the original UK team to match flavour profiles, and the space retains Dark Arts’ offbeat charm while reflecting Japanese hospitality.
