Tiny Arms Coffee

Tiny Arms Coffee & Ceramics began in 2021 when partners Jon Santos and Kate Cutlip opened a small shop in Lowell, Massachusetts. Jon, who once dreamed of owning a coffee shop after being introduced to specialty coffee in college, and Kate, a designer, combined their love of coffee and art to create a space that offered both roasting and handmade ceramics. In the early days the business operated a café in Lowell’s Western Avenue Studios, but by 2023 they closed the café to focus on roasting. They roast specialty coffee in Shirley, Massachusetts and prioritize sustainability — partnering with importers who support farmers, using eco‑friendly packaging and investing in equipment like a Loring Smart Roaster. The company’s branding centers around a playful T‑Rex mascot named Walter, reflecting their approachable ethos and love of children’s books. Each coffee features colorful illustrations of Walter on an adventure. Jon and Kate also make and sell ceramics to pair with their coffees, fostering a deeper appreciation for the craft and encouraging community connections. Tiny Arms aims to roast seasonal beans that highlight the unique qualities of each region while telling the stories of the farmers behind them. They emphasize community, sustainability and bringing joy through coffee and art.
