About Pilot Coffee Roasters
Pilot Coffee Roasters began in May 2009 when Andy Wilkin, a New Zealand–born Q Grader, and his partner Jessie Holmes opened Te Aro Coffee Roasters in a converted car garage in Toronto’s Leslieville neighbourhood. Inspired by the vibrant café culture of Wellington’s Te Aro district, they aimed to bring ethical, direct trade coffee and a welcoming atmosphere to their community. As demand grew the company rebranded to Pilot Coffee Roasters and evolved into a full‑service roastery, training provider and café operator. They roast coffee at their Wagstaff Drive roastery and operate cafés across Toronto, sharing their love of specialty coffee through multiple locations, cold brews, equipment supply and education while maintaining transparency from farm to cup.
