About Madmum Coffee Roasters
Madmum is the project of Pieter Claes, a champion barista who travelled extensively to source and learn about coffee. In 2018 Pieter opened the first Madmum Coffee Roasters & Bar (Tiensestraat) as an homage to his mother Mady. Over the years the business expanded, launching public workshops (Madmum Labs) and, in 2025, opening The Roastery — a combined production roastery, retail point, training space and small coffee bar in the restored Stella Artois buildings at the Vaartkom in Leuven. The brand emphasizes weekly roasting in Leuven, careful selection of seasonal beans, sustainable producer relationships and community-focused cafés.
