About Hazeru Coffee
Founded by Toyohisa Kubota in Toyama in 2016, hazeru coffee was born from an outpouring of emotion and a desire to showcase the uncharted charms of specialty coffee. The name “hazeru” is a Japanese roasting term meaning to crack, symbolising beans releasing their aromas and flavours. The roastery began as a small coffee stand where Kubota roasted and served seven varieties of light to medium‑dark coffee, encouraging customers accustomed to dark roasts to explore new flavours. In 2020 hazeru coffee expanded to a second outlet at SOGAWA BASE, known as the Bake Stand, and continues to operate a roastery in Furusawa; both locations offer freshly roasted beans and pastries while nurturing a community around specialty coffee.
