A rare and exceptional Geisha, winner of 1st place at auction, has arrived from El Porvenir, nestled in the tranquil mountains of Palestina, Huila, Colombia. El Porvenir is a project founded with the mission of elevating the quality of specialty coffee. The farm’s roots trace back to Orlando Sanchez, who led it to international recognition—winning the Presidential Award in 2019 and 2nd place in the 2020 Cup of Excellence. In 2022, his philosophy and standards of excellence were inherited by the current team, who continue his legacy with uncompromising care and precision. Today, the farm’s dedicated managers and their families reside on-site, overseeing every step—from fertilization, pruning, and harvesting to selection, fermentation, and drying—with exceptional attention to detail. For this lot, meticulously handpicked cherries underwent 70 hours of fermentation in tanks, followed by depulping and an additional 70 hours of fermentation with the original Mosto (the juice from the first fermentation). This dual-layered process is designed to enhance and preserve the delicate aromatic compounds characteristic of the Gesha variety.
