Co‑founder Hiver van Geenhoven, who began roasting at Barefoot, opened Chromatic Coffee on October 13 2012 with friends including Wendy and James Warren. They source rare, micro‑lot coffees and cultivate producer‑direct relationships, roast on custom‑modified equipment and highlight unique processing methods and cultivars. Recognised as Metro’s best new roaster and Thrillist’s top Bay Area coffee company, Chromatic roasts light and lively to showcase the complexity of each origin. Their roastery café at the Arts Mercantile Building on Lincoln Avenue invites visitors to experience their craft and community.
