About Atabey Coffee Roasters
Born in Los Angeles, Atabey Coffee Roasters is now based in Orlando, Florida. It is a female founded, self funded company that is 75 % Latina operated, focused on bringing Dominican specialty coffee to the people. They import green beans directly from Dominican farmers and roast each batch fresh to order, aiming to elevate Dominican coffee’s reputation while supporting small producers. Founder Ana grew up in a small town in the Dominican Republic where coffee was part of every moment. Her love for cafecito and community led her to explore the island’s coffee culture starting in 2017. After years of research, workshops and training, she launched Atabey Coffee Roasters in 2022. The company is named after Atabey, the Taíno goddess of Mother Earth and water, reflecting the mountains where their beans are cultivated. Their philosophy of “quality over quantity” guides them as they honor both the land and the people behind each cup.
