Za & Klo Torréfactrices
Za & Klo Torréfactrices is a Montreal-based micro-roastery founded by Elizabeth Kelly and Chloé Charlebois. This female-led roaster partners directly with farmers to ensure fair pay and transparent supply chains, roasting small batches of funky, specialty coffees that reflect Za's love of fruity surprises and Klo's taste for comforting aromas.
About Za & Klo Torréfactrices
Za & Klo began their journey in the commercial coffee business; Za grew up around coffee while Klo discovered it by chance when finishing her marketing degree. Working together in Montreal they fell in love with specialty coffee, developing a taste for funky cups and the desire to build lasting relationships with producers. In 2020 Elizabeth Kelly and Chloé Charlebois co‑founded this micro‑roastery, roasting small batches weekly at the Canadian Roasting Society near Canal Lachine. As a woman‑owned roastery, Za & Klo partners directly with farmers to ensure fair pay and transparent supply chains and aims to uplift women and queer people in the coffee industry. Each coffee is selected to honour their distinct palates—Za favours surprising fruity notes while Klo leans toward enveloping and comforting aromas—resulting in unique, traceable coffees that celebrate diversity and creativity.
