Uncommon was co‑founded in 2018 by Claye Tobin, Josh Cotton and Nina Tromp, veterans of the Amsterdam coffee scene who wanted to build a roastery and cafe that honoured the legends behind each coffee. They source organic‑certified or sustainably grown beans and highlight uncommon varieties, processing methods and producer stories, believing that every cup should connect drinkers to the people and places behind it. Their café in the Oud West district of Amsterdam offers a calming yet vibrant space with a seasonal menu of signature drinks and dishes made with unique ingredients. By sharing impact stories and working with local producers, Uncommon aims to inspire curiosity and promote fairness throughout the coffee chain while inviting guests to pause and enjoy exceptional coffees and cinnamon buns.
