About Ueshima Coffee Company

Ueshima Coffee Company was founded in 1933 when Tadao Ueshima opened a western food store in Kobe and fell in love with coffee. His passion for the ‘mysterious beverage’ led him to dedicate his life to making coffee popular across Japan, earning him the title ‘Father of Coffee’. In 1951 he established Ueshima Coffee Co., later launching the world’s first canned coffee in 1969. Today UCC is Japan’s leading coffee brand and operates farms in Jamaica and Hawaii along with cafés and academies. The company still upholds its founder’s pursuit of perfection, selecting the finest beans and precision‑roasting them to share Japanese craftsmanship with coffee lovers around the world.
