About Trailhead Coffee Roasters
Trailhead Coffee Roasters began in 2009 when founder Charlie Wicker turned a converted horse barn into a mobile roastery. Inspired by the idea that commerce could support farmers better than charity, he set out to roast ethically sourced, fair‑trade coffees. Their motto “Ethical × Crafted × Delicious” guides everything they do. Trailhead sources organic beans from small farms – many via the Café Femenino women’s cooperative – roasts them in small batches, and delivers orders across Portland by bicycle. The roastery is housed in the restored Glass Lab Building at 350 SE Mill Street and serves as a gathering place for events and education.
