This coffee type is extravagant and notorious for its spicy & fruity notes. Java is similar to Kenyan or Ethiopian coffee beans. It was first cultivated in Java, Indonesia by the Dutch in the XVII century. The best beans produced in Ijen, East of the island, were exported to Colombia. It is now primarily produced in Central American countries, especially Costa Rica.
