Perched at an altitude of 1500 metres, Lake Kivu is a serpentine volcanic lake straddling the border of Rwanda and the DRC. Bikunda Island is home to seven coffee producers who grow Red Bourbon trees. The coffee is processed at Ngoma Coffee Washing Station, known for its traceable specialty production.
