About Red Bay Coffee Roasters
Founded in Oakland in 2014 by artist and food entrepreneur Keba Konte, Red Bay Coffee seeks to bring Beautiful Coffee to the People. Konte set out to build a world‑class roastery that would reflect the culture and creativity of the community while paying homage to the craft of coffee. The company is proudly Black‑owned and places social and economic equity at the heart of its mission. Red Bay focuses on sourcing high‑quality, sustainable coffee through direct relationships with farmers and pays premium prices to support producers. At home they create opportunities for people who have been traditionally marginalized in the coffee industry, employing people of color, women, and formerly incarcerated individuals. Through its cafés and roastery in Oakland and San Francisco, Red Bay builds community by hosting events and sharing their passion for ethically sourced specialty coffee.
