Founded by husband-and-wife team Elise and Matt Higgins, it began as a mobile coffee bar in 2020 and now roasts ethically sourced beans in-house while operating cafes in downtown Savannah and Hilton Head Island, serving brunch and building community.
About Origin Coffee Bar
Elise and Matt Higgins started Origin Coffee Bar as a mobile coffee duo after struggling to find quality coffee for their own wedding. They sold their possessions and moved back to Savannah to pursue their dream, launching a mobile espresso bar in 2020 that quickly gained popularity. After overcoming pandemic-era challenges, they opened a permanent flagship at 356 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Savannah, transforming a historic building into a cafe, roastery, kitchen and headquarters where guests can immerse themselves in the Origin ethos. Origin Coffee Bar focuses on ethically sourced, house‑roasted coffee and a curated brunch menu, aiming to brighten days, build community and broaden palates. Their spaces are designed to be welcoming and inspiring, reflecting Savannah's cultural history while providing genuine hospitality. The business has expanded to a second cafe on Hilton Head Island at 35 Main Street, Suite 100, offering the same focus on specialty coffee, brunch and community connection.
