Modcup began in 2013 from a garage-rooted, music-and-coffee-driven modernist spirit — inspired by the 'mods' and their love of style, music, and cafés. The founders translated a DIY punk/rave energy into roasting, retail, and community-focused coffee experiences, growing from a garage operation to a roastery and several retail locations. Their roasting philosophy favors lighter, delicate roasts that preserve a coffee's natural aromas, brightness, and sweetness.
