This washed coffee is grown in the Mazateca mountain range in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. It is grown by numerous small holder farmers at altitudes of between 1500 and 1800 metres above sea level. Their ancestral production techniques are free of chemicals, and the coffee grows in agroforestry among other crops and trees. The word ‘Tejao’ means eagle’s nest in the native Mazateco language.
