About
Coffee from the Kenyan region of Murang’a County comes from the Gatumbi Factory, established in the early 80s. It operates under the Kangiri Farmers’ Cooperative Society, which today unites more than 690 farmers and produces approximately 528 bags of 60 kg annually. The station lies at an altitude of 1,600 – 1,750 masl on fertile clay soils. Stable climate with annual rainfall around 1,400 mm and average temperatures of 10 – 25 °C creates ideal conditions for growing SL 28, SL 34, Batian, and Ruiru 11 varieties. Processing is done using the fully washed method.
