Karani Factory, constructed in 1998, operates with over 600 smallholder farmers. The sandy volcanic soil near Mount Kenya yields prime conditions for coffee cultivation. Farmers handpick ripe cherries, which are sorted, pulped, and dry fermented before washing and grading.
