About Heartland Coffee Roasters
Heartland Coffee began as a passion project. After moving to London from New Zealand in 2000, founders Mal & Tara started roasting coffee in their flat, driven by a love for great-tasting coffee and a dream of one day opening a café. They began roasting commercially in 2005 and have spent the last two decades sourcing, crafting and sharing exceptional coffee—guided by curiosity, care and a passion for flavour. In 2012 the founders relocated to Llandudno in North Wales for space and family, joining the region's independent coffee scene. The company emphasises responsible sourcing, close relationships with farmers, and a focus on seasonal single origins and house blends paired with quality and sustainability.
