Grand Coffee

Grand Coffee is a San Francisco specialty coffee company founded in 2010 by Nabeel Silmi. Starting as a tiny Mission District café, it has grown into a community hub that roasts its own beans and serves a diverse neighborhood. Grand now operates cafés and a roasting facility in Oakland.

About Grand Coffee

Founded by Palestinian‑American barista Nabeel Silmi in the post‑recession days of 2010, Grand Coffee began as a pocket‑sized coffee bar on Mission Street in San Francisco. Built on love and good timing, the shop quickly became a welcoming space for immigrants, artists, tech workers, abuelas and longtime locals. For the first eight years Grand brewed Four Barrel coffee, then in 2018 it began roasting its own beans and supplying its compact bar as well as local groceries and restaurants. Silmi and his partners Adrian Lopez and Kimberly Kim continue to nurture Grand as a community gathering place and to make specialty coffee more accessible. They roast at a facility in West Oakland and have expanded beyond the original 2663 Mission St. café with plans for larger digs, all while preserving the inclusive spirit that defines Grand Coffee.
