Clamp Coffee is located near Nijo Castle along Oike Street in Kyoto. Tucked behind a sign and neighboring curated shops and workshops, the café offers a calm, slightly removed atmosphere from the busy city. The name “Clamp” comes from the tool used to fix materials to a workbench; this industrial inspiration is reflected in the café’s interior and furnishings. The shop positions itself as a place to connect people over coffee; they roast coffee in-house, sell beans through their BASE shop, and operate a café serving coffee, toast and cakes with hours posted on their social accounts.
