Bluebeard Coffee Roasters opened in April 2011 as a “253rd wave” coffee company dedicated to delivering a world‑class suite of coffees to Tacoma and beyond. Led by founder Kevin McGlocklin and a multi‑talented group of Tacomans, the roastery takes a small‑batch approach and pays top market prices for exceptional beans from Latin America and East Africa. The team prides itself on beautifully balanced coffees and the community they represent and support. The company operates two welcoming spaces in Tacoma. Its original café at 2201 6th Avenue is an airy, open gathering place in the heart of the City of Destiny. In 2024 Bluebeard opened a rebuilt roastery, café and headquarters in a restored 100‑year‑old furniture showroom at 5428 South Tacoma Way. Both cafés showcase the company’s commitment to transparency, inclusivity and quality, inviting coffee lovers to experience their carefully roasted offerings.
