Discarnate Ails

The story of Plan del Hoyo begins long before its first harvest. Francisco R. R. de Sola, a lifelong member of the Sola Group, spent nearly half a century building ventures across El Salvador before turning to the soil. In 2015, he planted his first coffee trees on the volcanic slopes of Plan del Hoyo. The land carries decades of weight, and since 2015, it has gained recognition among roasters for its refinement and character.

Black Mass Roasters is a specialty coffee roastery based in Meanjin (Brisbane), Australia, founded in 2021. They roast seasonal single-origin and blended offerings with a dark, distinctive aesthetic — “Sacrificial Offerings” — and ship worldwide. Focused on traceability and curated processing, they operate primarily as a roastery and online store.
